2025 Educators Rising State Conference
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Educators Rising Collegiate Chapter is excited to host the 2025 Louisiana Educators Rising State Conference on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the UL Lafayette Student Union. The day's events will take place from approximately 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The theme for this year's state conference: Uplifting the Profession: Think. Believe. Dream. Dare. is inspired by the Disney quote, "First, think. Second, believe. Third, dream. And finally, dare."
Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including keynote speakers, lunch provided in the Student Union, exhibitors, competitions, and breakout sessions featuring panels, presentations, and interactive sessions designed for aspiring and current educators and their supporters.

Call for Proposals
We encourage aspiring and current educators, counselors, and leaders from middle schools, high schools, colleges, and district/state departments to submit proposals for conference presentations, interactive workshops, poster showcases, panels, and workgroups. Proposals may be submitted in collaboration with fellow students or teachers. Please see further details at the following link: 2025 Proposal Information and Submission Form.
Proposals will be accepted until Friday, January 17th, 2025. Abstracts should be between 60-80 words and will be shared in the conference program schedule to advertise the session. Please submit no more than 2 proposals as lead presenter. All accepted presenters will be notified by Friday, January 31st. Competition and Contest Information
At the State Conference, you will have the opportunity to compete in 7 different competitions and 3 different contests. Each competition/contest has a link to the National Rubric.
Competitions:
• Children’s Literature K-3 English - PDF copy needs to be sent with application
• Children's Literature K-3 Spanish - PDF copy needs to be sent with application
• Children’s Literature K-3 Collegiate - PDF copy needs to be sent with application
• Public Speaking - Speech needs to be uploaded with the application and a speech needs to be brought to the competition
• Creative Lecture - Speech needs to be uploaded with the application
• Educators Rising Moment - Speech needs to be uploaded with the application
• Public Service Announcement - Link to PSA needs to be uploaded with the application
Contests:
• Interactive Bulletin Board - Elementary - Summary sheet is due with the application
• Interactive Bulletin Board - Secondary -Summary sheet is due with the application
• Project Visualize - Service Project - Summary sheet is due with the application
General Guidelines:
• Competitors must be a paid Active-level student of the National Educators Rising Group by February 1.
• Students can compete in 1 contest or competition.
• 1 person/team per school is guaranteed a spot.
• A second person/team per school can apply to compete and will be placed on the schedule as the schedule permits.
Preparation Tips:
• View YouTube videos of past performances
• When learning new information in your class/club, encourage students to present that information in the same format as the competitions (e.g., Creative Lecture)
• Have students perform/present their speeches/products to locals - bonus points for having the locals use the rubrics for feedback.
