Kinesiology Program Requirements

In order to be recommended for a degree in the College of Education, you must have applied for and been formally admitted into the program. In addition, you must have fulfilled all University requirements for admission into the program.

Kinesiology Programs

Athletic Training Program Requirements

Students majoring in Athletic Training major must meet all of the requirements prior to admission into the program and prior to scheduling any 400 level courses:

Exercise Science, Online Health Promotion and Wellness, or Sports Management Program Requirements

Students with a Kinesiology major must meet all of the following requirements for the 2013-2015 and 2015-2016 Academic Catalog prior to admission into the program and prior to scheduling any 400 level courses:

  • Completion of all freshman courses listed in the curriculum of the student's major.
  • Completion of  "C" or better in ENGL 101 and ENGL 102.
  • Students applying for admissions in the Kinesiology program with a concentration in Exercise Science, Online Health Promotion and Wellness, or Sports Management are required to have a 2.0 Adjusted GPA or higher.
  • Student must successfully complete at least 60 credit hours.
  • Graduation requirements are as followed: 2.5 Adjusted GPA or higher and grade of "C" or better in all HLTH, KNES, and RCEA courses in major area.

    NOTE: Students in the Health and Physical Education, Grades K-12, program should meet the admissions requirements for the Teacher Education Program.

Online Health Promotion and Wellness or Sports Management Program Requirements

Students with a Kinesiology major must meet all of the following requirements for the 2016-2017 Academic Catalog prior to admission into the program and prior to scheduling any 400 level courses:

  • Completion of all freshman courses listed in the curriculum of the student's major.
  • Completion of  "C" or better in ENGL 101 and ENGL 102.
  • Students applying for admissions in the Kinesiology program with a concentration in Online Health Promotion and Wellness or Sports Management are required to have a 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher.
  • Student must successfully complete at least 60 credit hours.
  • Graduation requirements are as followed: 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher and grade of "C" or better in all HLTH, KNES, and RCEA courses in major area.

    NOTE: Students in the Health and Physical Education, Grades K-12, program should meet the admissions requirements for the Teacher Education Program.
